Stress is the response of the body, mind , and spirit to any perceived or real demand. Stress is experienced when we are physically taxed, emotionally overburdened, or spiritually depleted. Stress threatens one’s overall well being.
We can see healthy coping responses in many situations throughout the day if we listen carefully and closely watch our friends and neighbors. Observe your family members, your teachers, your friends, and your colleagues to see how they deal with the stress of their daily lives. (Don’t be fooled into thinking that none of these people experience stress! Likewise, don’t be fooled into thinking that all of their coping attempts are completely successful and healthy!) Take time to see how others are addressing the stress in their lives. In your journal, write down what you observe and your reactions to the coping efforts of others. Ask them.
